#Kidlitchat Tuesday. September 8, 2009.

Posted on: September 6, 2009

Every Tuesday night, I rush though the housework and try to get the kids settled down and ready for bed. I want to focus on joining in on #kidlitchat on .

Each week one or two topics are suggested by the co-hosts Bonnie Adamson and Greg Pincus as a starting point for the discussion but other topics can and do come up.

Authors from all genres from picture books to young adult  to science fiction/fantasy, editors, literary agents, illustrators, librians, bookstore owners, moms, and dads all are welcomed participants. Sorry if I forgot any groups of people. There are newbies like myself soaking in the knowledge as well as several who have years of valuable experiences in their related fields. Everyone is great about answering questions.

Personally, I have met the neatest people on #kidlitchat. People I know that I would never have met otherwise.

The two co-hosts, Bonnie Adamson and Greg Pincus, go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. Not only do they host #kidlitchat but they post the transcripts the next day or so for those people like me that sometimes have to miss a part of the chat. (Sometimes my two nephews require a little coaxing to go to sleep and I have to leave the discussion.)

Don’t forget to make time to check it out.

Sounds fantastic. If only I wasn’t on the opposite side of the Atlantic, I’ll have to see if I can figure out those pesky time zones.

I wish you could join us in our discussions. They are really helpful. I love them.

You can always read the transcripts and see if anyone’s comments resonate with you. Then, you can follow them on

Just curious about how you found my blog. Of course, I wondered what you thought about it. Please feel free to come back and check out what is new. I am always looking for something new for my readers.

Thanks for being part of kidlitchat AND for writing about it, too. I think it’s a highlight for many of us… but I know it is for me!

I love #kidlitchat. for the first time I am beginning to feel

like I am a part of the writing world. Thanks so much for all

that you do.

My Favorites:

I love the children's movies Wizard of Oz and the Neverending Story. Both movies make me feel the lesson that hope is alive and well. After seeing UP this past week, it just might have a chance at being added to this list.

I love the cool colors of blues and purples. Those colors are peaceful for me.

I love The Velveteen Rabbit. Even as an adult, I still feel the urge to cry when he becomes real. I know, silly, but a good book can make me laugh and cry as it takes me on a magical journey.
